Dr. Azmat Ullah Wazir leads crackdown on power theft

Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Dr. Azmat Ullah Wazir, recently chaired a crucial meeting to address the pressing issues of illegal electricity connections and power theft in the region. The meeting focused on implementing strict measures to curb these unlawful activities that not only disrupt the power supply but also pose a significant threat to the overall electricity infrastructure.

Dr. Wazir emphasized the urgent need to crack down on individuals involved in obtaining illegal electricity connections and committing power theft. He directed the immediate replacement of outdated wires to minimize line losses, thereby ensuring a more efficient distribution of electricity. Additionally, in line with the directives from the provincial government, it was mandated that the maximum duration of load shedding on feeders should not exceed 12 hours to mitigate the inconvenience faced by consumers.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the importance of ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers by promptly addressing technical power supply issues. Assistant Commissioners were assigned the responsibility of overseeing grid stations in their respective areas to enhance public convenience and streamline the power distribution process.

The attendees at the meeting included key officials such as the Additional Deputy Commissioner General, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance, Assistant Commissioners, and representatives from relevant departments, underscoring the collective effort to combat electricity-related challenges in Kohat.
