Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has intensified its efforts to combat electricity theft in its operational areas across five districts. A total of 441 instances of power theft have been uncovered during the ongoing anti-power theft campaign, with legal action taken against the offenders.

Under the leadership of LESCO's CEO, Engineer Shahid Haider, the company is rigorously pursuing the directives from the Federal Power Division to eliminate electricity theft completely. The campaign has resulted in 179 FIRs filed and 26 arrests made so far, demonstrating LESCO's commitment to holding both perpetrators and any facilitating personnel accountable.

On the 234th day of the campaign, significant cases of electricity theft were identified among various consumer categories, leading to disconnections and billing for the stolen units. Notable cases include detection bills imposed on offenders in different areas, totaling Rs 8.184 million.

Since the inception of the campaign, LESCO has identified power theft on a large scale, with 79,860 connections found to be involved in illegal activities. This has led to 75,352 FIRs and 30,625 arrests, highlighting the company's unwavering stance against electricity theft. Offenders have been issued a total detection bill of Rs 3,467,124,743, emphasizing the serious consequences of such illegal actions.
