Epson and NBI Crack Down on Counterfeit Ink Sales

Epson Southeast Asia Regional Headquarters, in its ongoing efforts to tackle the sale of counterfeit ink products, recently partnered with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to conduct successful raids in the Tondo district of Manila. During the operations, a substantial quantity of counterfeit ink items, packaging boxes, and hologram labels were confiscated, with an estimated value of Ph₱2.5 million.

The targeted raids focused on two ink suppliers who were actively engaged in the online sale of counterfeit ink products across various platforms. Investigations revealed that these illicit products were likely obtained from unauthorized overseas sources. The presence of fake hologram labels indicated a deliberate attempt to mislead consumers.

Epson's collaboration with the NBI in combating counterfeit products has led to significant seizures in Manila and Tarlac in the past. The company underscores the importance of safeguarding consumers and authorized sellers from the potential dangers associated with counterfeit ink, which could contain harmful substances.

For consumer protection, Epson strongly advises customers to purchase ink products exclusively from authorized dealers and official online stores. To verify the authenticity of their purchases, customers can utilize the Epson Genuine Ink PH app, which allows them to scan QR codes or enter random numbers from the product packaging.
