FESCO Cracks Down on Electricity Theft in Faisalabad

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has taken a strong stance against electricity theft in the region, resulting in a significant crackdown on offenders. Over a period of 279 days, FESCO has identified and penalized 9,028 individuals involved in power theft, imposing a total fine of Rs. 919 million. This rigorous campaign has led to the apprehension of 58 electricity thieves in the last 24 hours alone.

As part of the anti-power-theft initiative, FESCO has rigorously pursued those found guilty of stealing electricity. A total of 8,860 cases have been registered against offenders, with fines being levied based on the discovery of illegal connections. The collaboration with law enforcement agencies has been instrumental in the operation, resulting in the arrest of 6,878 individuals and the recovery of Rs. 660.2 million.

The diligent efforts of FESCO teams have uncovered numerous instances of electricity theft across various circles in Faisalabad. The First Circle saw the identification of 2,140 points of theft, leading to fines amounting to Rs. 210.6 million. Similarly, the Second Circle witnessed the apprehension of 1,650 electricity thieves who were fined accordingly. Other circles such as Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Toba Tek Singh also experienced a significant number of power theft cases, with fines ranging from Rs. 105 million to Rs. 218.5 million.

FESCO's relentless efforts to combat electricity theft in Faisalabad have resulted in a substantial crackdown on offenders. By imposing hefty fines and actively pursuing those engaged in power theft, FESCO aims to ensure a fair and lawful distribution of electricity in the region, ultimately benefiting all residents and promoting a culture of compliance with regulations.
