Mayor Sukkur leads efforts for Eid-ul-Adha cattle markets

Mayor Sukkur Barrister Arslan Sheikh recently presided over a crucial meeting to address the need for a dedicated cattle market in Sukkur ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from various departments, including district administration, Sukkur Municipal Corporation, police, traffic police, livestock, and Cattle Market Management, to strategize the establishment of ten cattle markets near the city bypass.

The primary objective of setting up these markets is to facilitate the buying and selling of sacrificial animals in a controlled and organized manner. To ensure the smooth functioning of the markets, responsibilities for market arrangements have been assigned to the assistant commissioner and relevant departments. Basic facilities will be provided to create a conducive environment for traders and buyers.

Key measures will be implemented to maintain order and safety during the Eid-ul-Adha period. The Livestock Department will oversee protective measures at checkpoints, while the traffic police will develop a comprehensive traffic management plan to regulate the flow of vehicles around the cattle markets. Strict regulations will be enforced to prevent any unauthorized animal trading within the city limits.

To enhance the overall experience for traders and buyers, help desks will be set up at each cattle market to assist citizens with their queries and needs.
