Provincial Ministers in Pakistan announce infrastructure projects in Sialkot, emphasizing religious tolerance and unity among diverse communities.

The Provincial Minister for Local Government, Zeeshan Rafique, has announced that the construction of a flyover at the Muzaffarpur Railway crossing in Sialkot will be completed by August 14, 2024, at a cost of Rs2 billion. This development falls under the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Program (PICIIP), which aims to enhance infrastructure in Sialkot city. The program includes projects related to sewerage, water supply, filtration plants, waste water treatment plants, and parks, all scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

During a review meeting at the DC office, Minister Rafique instructed PICIIP authorities to expedite the design and drawings for a proposed flyover at Chowk Lorry Adda and Kotli Bahram on Kashmir Road within two months. He emphasized the importance of creating a simulation model for the project to ensure its efficiency.

Furthermore, Minister Rafique conducted an open kutchery at the Rest House, Municipal Committee Daska, where he addressed citizen concerns and issued directives for their resolution. In a separate event, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, highlighted the constitutional freedom granted to followers of all religions in Pakistan. Speaking at a gathering of Christians in Sialkot, Minister Arora emphasized the importance of religious tolerance and unity among diverse communities.

He commended the inclusive nature of Pakistan, where individuals are free to practice their faiths and celebrate religious festivals together. Minister Arora drew parallels between the teachings of Hazrat Isa (AS) and Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) in promoting justice and standing against oppression. The minister later inaugurated the Pakistan Lifestyle Furniture Exhibition, where he inspected stalls showcasing furniture manufactured by local companies.
