Following widespread protests by the residents of Dera Ismail Khan regarding the extensive power outages in the region, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has made changes to the load shedding schedule. The demonstrations, led by local politician Suhail Rajput, brought attention to the severe 18 to 20 hours of daily power cuts that were causing distress among the citizens.

After negotiations between the protesters and PESCO's Superintendent Engineer Fida Muhammad Mehsud, a mutual agreement was reached to reduce the duration of power cuts. As a result, the load shedding hours have been decreased by four hours. Areas that previously endured 14 to 22 hours of power cuts will now experience shorter durations, while feeders facing 12 hours of load shedding will see a reduction to 10 hours.

The successful outcome of the discussions led to the conclusion of the protest, with the demonstrators content with the revised schedule. The protesters, having staged a sit-in at the PESCO office, expressed satisfaction with the positive change that will alleviate the burden of prolonged power outages in the district.
