The inaugural Hajj flight organized by PIA from Sukkur marks a significant milestone in facilitating pilgrims' journey, emphasizing strict security measures and the importance of the government's Hajj scheme.
The first Hajj flight organized by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for pilgrims participating in the government Hajj scheme successfully departed from Begum Nusarat Bhutto Airport in Sukkur. The event was graced by the presence of PPP senior leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, alongside officials from the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Auqaf, airport personnel, and the families of the pilgrims.
A total of 63 Hajj pilgrims were flown to Saudi Arabia from Sukkur via Karachi. Stringent security measures were in place, with passengers strictly prohibited from carrying items such as nail cutters, scissors, razors, lighters, toys with batteries, matches, power banks, cylinders, emergency lights, lanterns, stoves, and inflammable substances in their luggage.
Back in December of the previous year, a total of 63,805 out of 69,438 nationals were selected through a balloting process to participate in the government's Hajj scheme, highlighting the significance of this annual pilgrimage for Muslims around the world.
