Pakistan Railways implements a fuel management system in collaboration with PSO to enhance operational efficiency, meet international standards, and improve safety measures.

The Pakistan Railways has recently introduced a fuel management system to enhance its operational efficiency. This development was announced by PR CEO Amir Ali Baloch, who highlighted the new agreement with Pakistan State Oil (PSO) as a significant step towards ensuring a consistent fuel supply to the railway's oil facilities.

According to Baloch, the PSO's advanced fuel management technology is expected to bring substantial benefits to the railway's operations. As part of the agreement, the railway's fuel supply centers will undergo upgrades to meet international standards set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). These upgrades will include the installation of top-tier firefighting systems to enhance safety measures.

The initial phase of this initiative is being rolled out in Karachi and Lahore, with plans to extend the system to six more cities in the near future. Baloch emphasized that besides aligning with global standards, the new system aims to conserve resources, minimize fuel wastage, and reduce the risk of fuel theft significantly.

The implementation of the fuel management system by Pakistan Railways marks a crucial milestone in enhancing the efficiency and safety of its operations. With the adoption of advanced technology and adherence to international standards, the railway is poised to improve its overall performance and sustainability in the long run.
