The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Balochistan, urging authorities to take precautions. Coastal districts are at high risk, and measures are being taken to prevent the impact of the impending storms.

After a three-day period of intense rainfall claimed the lives of 10 individuals in Balochistan, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for further downpours starting Wednesday. The Met Office has predicted a 'powerful' spell of rain approaching the province, with heavy rains and thunderstorms expected in various districts. Authorities, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

The Met Centre has specifically highlighted coastal districts such as Gwadar, Kech, and Panjgur, among others, as areas likely to be heavily impacted. The advisory cautions against outdoor activities during the storms due to the risk of lightning strikes. In response to urban flooding in Quetta, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has established a committee to investigate the causes and propose preventive measures.

Following the recent emergency declaration in 25 districts of Balochistan, it was revealed that encroachments on waterways significantly contributed to the flooding. Over 200 employees are facing dismissal for negligence during the crisis. The Met Department continues to advise authorities to implement precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of the impending rainfall.

In conclusion, the upcoming spell of heavy rain poses a significant threat to Balochistan, necessitating proactive measures from both the government and citizens to minimize the potential damage and loss of life.
