CEO Nadir Gul Bareach of PPAF leads a rapid relief operation in Gwadar, providing essential aid to 400 flood-affected families through collaboration with SPO.
Following the devastating floods that struck Gwadar district in February 2024, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), Nadir Gul Bareach, swiftly responded to the crisis. The heavy rainfall led to widespread destruction, causing homes to be submerged, infrastructure to be damaged, and lives to be disrupted.
CEO Nadir Gul Bareach, during a relief aid distribution event, highlighted PPAF's emergency relief operation aimed at providing vital assistance to the affected communities. Collaborating with Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), PPAF launched the 'Emergency Relief Assistance to 2024 Flood-Affected Communities in Gwadar' project. This initiative focused on procuring and distributing essential relief items tailored to meet the immediate needs of the flood-affected households.
The relief packages, funded by PPAF and implemented by SPO, included items such as rice, lentils, ghee, flour, salt, sugar, tea, milk powder, household essentials, and hygiene kits. These items were distributed to 400 families across eight wards of union council Surbandar in district Gwadar.
CEO Nadir Gul Bareach stressed the importance of swift and coordinated action during crises, emphasizing solidarity and support for those facing challenges. He reiterated PPAF's commitment to standing with the people of Gwadar, providing hope and assistance when needed the most.
