On Wednesday, Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan highlighted the crucial need to preserve and digitize historical documents for the benefit of future generations. This initiative aims to safeguard valuable records and make them accessible in the digital age. During his recent visit to the Mir Naseer Khan Noori Complex under the management of the Department of Culture, Khan personally inspected various key areas, including the digitization process, library facilities, auditorium, and conference hall.
Secretary of Culture, Noor Mohammad Jogezai, warmly welcomed the Chief Secretary and engaged in discussions regarding the importance of safeguarding records of national and historical significance. Khan, in response, issued directives to officials to accelerate the digitization and preservation efforts of national archives. He specifically emphasized the urgency of transferring records from Sibi to Quetta promptly to ensure their safety and accessibility.
