Commissioner Ahsan Ali Qureshi launches a polio campaign in Hyderabad Division, targeting over 1.8 million children to eradicate polio and prevent outbreaks.

The Commissioner of Hyderabad Division, Ahsan Ali Qureshi, kicked off a seven-day polio campaign set to commence on April 29. The campaign was inaugurated at CDF Hospital, where children received polio drops. Commissioner Qureshi emphasized the government's focus on eradicating polio in Hyderabad and Badin districts. Over 1.8 million children under 5 years old are targeted to receive the vaccine across the division's 9 districts.

Qureshi expressed determination to eliminate polio from the region and urged parents to support the vaccination efforts. He directed the District Health Officer to provide ORS sachets to health workers conducting door-to-door immunizations during the hot summer days.

Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that primarily affects young children. It can lead to paralysis and, in severe cases, death. Vaccination campaigns are crucial in preventing the spread of polio and protecting communities from outbreaks.

The launch of the polio campaign in Hyderabad Division signals a proactive approach towards safeguarding children from this debilitating disease. With concerted efforts from health authorities and community participation, the goal of a polio-free region is within reach.
