Punjab witnesses a surge in road accidents, prompting the need for improved safety measures. Lahore tops the list with the highest incidents, emphasizing the urgency for collaborative action.

Over the past 24 hours, Punjab has witnessed a concerning rise in road traffic accidents, with a total of 2177 reported crashes resulting in 14 fatalities and 2553 injuries. The data reveals a significant impact on the province, highlighting the need for enhanced road safety measures.

Among the victims, 1106 were drivers, 114 were underage drivers, 224 were pedestrians, and 1237 were passengers. Lahore, the Provincial Capital, experienced the highest number of incidents, with 350 crashes affecting 425 individuals. Faisalabad followed with 143 accidents and 188 victims, while Gujranwala reported 132 crashes and 141 casualties.

Emergency response teams played a crucial role in providing immediate medical assistance, treating 1306 individuals with minor injuries on-site and transferring 1247 seriously injured persons to hospitals. The involvement of various types of vehicles, including 2022 motorbikes, 104 auto-rickshaws, 254 motorcars, and others, underscores the diverse nature of these accidents.
