ANF Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking in Pakistan

Drug trafficking remains a serious issue in Pakistan, prompting the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to take decisive action against offenders. In a recent series of operations, the ANF successfully intercepted illegal drug shipments, resulting in the seizure of a total of 45 kg of drugs and the apprehension of 10 individuals involved in these illicit activities.

One notable operation took place at Peshawar Airport, where authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle 7.7 kg of ice, a potent form of methamphetamine, destined for Jeddah. In Multan, a suspect was found in possession of 13 kg of hashish and 170 grams of ice. In another operation in the Phoolnagar Kasur area, two individuals were caught with 8.4 kg of opium. Additionally, separate operations in Quetta led to the discovery of 5.4 kg of ice. Further crackdowns in Chashma Road Mianwali and near Haji Camp Peshawar resulted in the confiscation of 4.8 kg and 3.6 kg of hashish, respectively. Near Burhan Toll Plaza Attock, 2 kg of hashish was seized from a suspect, while 500 grams of ice were found on an individual near a college in Peshawar.

All arrested individuals are now facing charges under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are currently ongoing to uncover any potential links to larger drug trafficking networks.

The ANF's relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking have yielded significant results, with multiple successful operations leading to the seizure of various illegal substances and the arrest of individuals involved in these criminal activities. Such proactive measures are crucial in safeguarding communities and curbing the detrimental impact of drug trafficking on society.
