Sindh CTD Cracks Down on Illegal Arms Trafficking

Authorities in Sindh have taken a strong stance against illegal arms trafficking, with recent operations leading to the arrest of individuals involved in supplying illegal weapons. The Sindh Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Investigation Wing successfully apprehended two suspects in separate incidents, shedding light on a concerning trend of online arms purchases from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to Karachi.

During a targeted operation in Mubina Town, Syed Bilal was caught with four 9mm pistols that he had ordered online from Khan Arms Company in Darra Adam Khel. Another operation in Samanabad led to the arrest of Hamza Ali Khan, who was found in possession of two 9mm pistols and ammunition sourced from Lucky Arms Company in the same region. Both suspects confessed to their involvement in the illegal arms trade.

The CTD spokesperson emphasized the risks associated with purchasing weapons online from KPK and transporting them to Karachi using various means. Citizens were warned about the illegality and dangers of such transactions, as these weapons are acquired through illicit channels. The CTD has initiated legal proceedings against the arrested individuals and is actively investigating the wider network of illegal arms trafficking.

The recent crackdown on illegal arms trafficking in Karachi underscores the importance of vigilance and law enforcement efforts in curbing the spread of illicit weapons.
