The Pakistan Meteorological Department revises Karachi forecast to cloudy skies with no rainfall expected. Recent weather patterns in Pakistan highlight the unpredictable nature of climate events.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has revised its forecast for Karachi, indicating a decrease in the likelihood of rainfall in the city. Initially, there were warnings of rainstorms and strong winds, but the current weather outlook suggests cloudy skies as western winds move away from Sindh. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz mentioned that a rain system from Balochistan is now heading towards Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, potentially bringing heavy rains to these regions.

Presently, Karachi is experiencing a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius with 52% humidity and light westerly winds blowing at 27 km/h. The Met Office predicts clear weather in Karachi starting from Saturday, with no rainfall expected in the upcoming week.

Earlier this month, a westerly wave caused significant rainfall in various parts of Pakistan, leading to unfortunate weather-related incidents. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported over 65 casualties, primarily due to lightning strikes. The rainfall in April has surpassed historical averages, raising concerns about the rising death toll.

As Karachi braces for clearer skies in the coming days, the recent weather patterns across Pakistan serve as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of climate events. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of residents in regions prone to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
