CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif unveils a Rs400 billion aid package supporting farmers and urban development in Punjab, including initiatives like Punjab Kisan Bank and Ravi Urban Development Authority projects.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced a comprehensive aid package worth Rs400 billion aimed at supporting farmers and promoting urban development initiatives. The package includes the introduction of the Punjab Kisan Bank, Green Tractor program, local production of agricultural machinery, and an Oil Seed Promotion Program. This initiative was revealed during a meeting chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, where detailed plans for the Kisan Package were presented.

One of the key components of the package is the establishment of the Punjab Kisan Bank, which will provide farmers with loans on favorable terms. Additionally, the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme, endorsed by CM Maryam Nawaz, will offer subsidies for small and large tractors to eligible landowners with six to 50 acres. The program also includes a high-tech mechanization initiative in collaboration with international companies for the local manufacturing of modern agricultural tools.

Furthermore, the Oil Seed Promotion Program aims to encourage farmers to cultivate edible oil across various regions of the province. CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the significance of the historic Rs400 billion Kisan Package, which not only provides financial benefits but also offers additional privileges and facilities through the Kisan Card. The meeting also discussed plans for solarizing tube wells, implementing drip irrigation systems, and expediting the registration process for farmers to obtain the Kisan Card.

In a separate meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif directed the implementation of the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) master plan. This includes measures to prevent illegal land transactions and proposals for collaboration with international companies, particularly Chinese firms, for RUDA projects. The agenda also involves enhancing forest areas within RUDA, constructing an international standard airport in the twin city project, and developing Model Villages in rural settlements.

Efforts to conserve water through the creation of lakes, sewerage water treatment plants, and the emphasis on environmental protection in all RUDA projects were highlighted by CM Maryam Nawaz. The government aims to take stringent action against any hindrances to the Lahore projects, ensuring the successful implementation of these crucial initiatives for the benefit of farmers and urban development in Punjab.
