In April 2024, Faisalabad authorities cracked down on price violators, conducting over 180,000 inspections and imposing fines on thousands of shopkeepers to ensure fair competition and consumer protection.

In April 2024, the price control magistrates in Faisalabad took strict actions against shopkeepers who were found violating regulations. A total of 182,548 inspections were carried out in various markets and bazaars, leading to the discovery of 6,836 shopkeepers engaged in profiteering and 5,173 failing to display rate lists.

As a result, fines amounting to Rs10.954 million were imposed on 12,009 shopkeepers. Additionally, 282 profiteers were arrested for breaching the price control act, and 44 shops were sealed. Cases were registered against the shop owners to ensure the rigorous enforcement of price control measures.

These measures were implemented to curb unfair practices and maintain price stability in the local markets. The district administration's efforts underscore the importance of adhering to regulations to protect consumers and promote fair competition among businesses.
