Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan announces repair plans for Tharii-Ranipur highway

The Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has revealed plans for the repair work of the 52 km long Tharii-Ranipur section of the highway. The project is estimated to be completed by December 2024, with a budget of Rs 498 million allocated for the task.

Minister Aleem Khan made this announcement in response to an attention notice raised in the National Assembly by members including Ms Nafisa Shah, Ms Naz Baloch, and Ms Mehtab Akbar Rashidi. The notice highlighted the urgent need for repairs on the mentioned highway section.

Providing further details, Aleem Khan stated that the repair schemes for the Tharii-Ranipur section are currently in the procurement phase. The financial bids for the project were opened on April 24, 2024, marking progress towards the initiation of repair works.

The Tharii-Ranipur highway section has been in need of repair due to deteriorating road conditions, posing risks to commuters and hindering smooth transportation. The decision to allocate funds and expedite the repair process comes as a response to the growing concerns raised by both the public and members of the National Assembly.
