The Sindh Building Control Authority, under Director General Abdul Rasheed Solangi, is taking decisive action to demolish illegal structures in Karachi and Hyderabad, with plans to address encroachments and ensure structural safety across Sindh.

Director General of the Sindh Building Control Authority, Abdul Rasheed Solangi, has announced a crackdown on illegal structures in Karachi and Hyderabad to eradicate encroachments. Solangi revealed that numerous illegal buildings have already been demolished in Karachi, with similar actions planned for Hyderabad. The authority has initiated a survey to identify buildings in urgent need of repair across Sindh, with a total of 751 such structures identified, the majority of which are in Karachi. In Hyderabad, only 34 buildings have been flagged as dilapidated.

Once the survey is completed, detailed information on the deteriorating buildings will be submitted to the Sindh Government. Solangi emphasized the importance of enhancing the credibility of the SBCA and stressed that efforts will be made to address encroachments throughout Sindh without succumbing to any external pressures. Additionally, the authority aims to encourage private builders to adhere to project timelines and is in the process of establishing a streamlined complaint redressal system through a one-window operation.

The Sindh Building Control Authority's proactive measures to tackle illegal constructions and ensure structural safety reflect a commitment to upholding building regulations and safeguarding public welfare.
